(Phoenix, AZ): The Goo Goo Dolls paid a visit to Phoenix on Saturday night as they played to a near sell out crowd at the Dodge Theater. The Goo’s frontman John Rzeznik led the band through a series of old, new and soon to be released music. The Goo Goo Dolls have not changed much over the years. They came into the music scene as a favorites and by all indications of the crowd last night they are still favorites.
Switchfoot was the opening act, but as it turns out, they were the closing act also. After the Goo Goo Dolls riffed through a 90 minute set, members of Switchfoot were found along the back side of the theater leading a group of fans originally gathered to get a glimpse of Rzeznik on the way to his bus, in an acoustic set that played on for nearly an hour. Switchfoot stole the show by taking to the streets and providing a well refined and crisp acoustic set, while others signed autographs, and chatted with fans.
